Obituary for Walter H Allen
Walter H. Allen, age 91, of Northlake, a former resident of the Carpentersville area for over 50 years passed away on Wednesday, January 18, 2023, at the Villa Scalabrini Nursing and Healthcare Center in Northlake.
Walter was born on November 3, 1931, in Chicago. He was a former many-year member of St. Monica Catholic Church in Carpentersville and a member of Bishop Arthur J. O’Neill Assembly # 2381 Knights of Columbus at St. Monica Church. He was also a very proud U.S. Army Korean War era veteran. Walter also volunteered at the Ray Graham Association.
Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth M. (nee Acs) Allen, and his three children, Steven (Roxanne) Allen, Karen Erb, and Kristin Allen. Other survivors include his 7 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, his sister, Judy Strzalka as well as his nieces, nephews, neighbors, and friends.
In addition to his parents, Walter was preceded in death by his first wife, Marilyn I. Tannhill Allen, on July 7, 2011. They married on May 12, 1951; his daughters, Kathleen Stier and Kimberly Carrigan, and sons-in-law, Ronald Carrigan and Robert Erb.
At Walter’s request, he will be cremated. A Memorial Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 24, 2023, from 4:00 P.M. until the time of the Memorial Service at 6:00 at Miller Funeral Home in West Dundee. Please omit flowers.
