Victor A. “Vic“ Darst, age 87, of Huntley former many-year resident of the Carpentersville and Dundee areas passed away in the comfort of his home under the care of his family on Wednesday evening, November 30, 2022. Vic was born in Chicago on July 26, 1935, and was the son of the late Lee C. & Josephine (nee Dilalla) Darst.

On November 18, 1963, Vic married the love of his life, Alice E. Markee. Together they raised their family and made a loving home for 59 years. Prior to retirement, Vic was a loyal and valued employee of the United States Postal Service for over 38 years. He retired as Postal Superintendent. He was a proud United States Army Koran War-era veteran. He was an avid Chicago Sports enthusiast as well as enjoying Thoroughbred horse racing. Vic was extremely well-read. He loved discussing current events as well as politics.

Survivors include his beloved wife, Alice; their children, Scott T. Darst and Brenda (Glenn) Fitch. Other survivors include his three grandsons Brett T. (Ashley), Sean T., and Adam T. (Brittany) Darst; his great-granddaughter, Brooke T., and great-grandson, Patrick T. Darst; his sister, Valerie Wilson, as well as his in-laws, several nieces, nephews, and countless good and faithful friends.

At Vic’s request, he will be cremated. Memorial Funeral Services will be held at 4:00 P.M. on Saturday, December 10, 2022, at Miller Funeral Home in West Dundee. The Darst family will be receiving friends at the funeral home from 2:00 P.M. until the time of the service.
