Obituary for Steven L Lewandowski

Steven L. “Steve” Lewandowski, age 81, of Pingree Grove former resident of Elk Grove Village for over 40 years passed away surrounded by his family on Saturday, September 10, 2022, at St. Alexius Medical Center in Hoffman Estates. Steve was born in Chicago on April 8, 1941, and was the son of the late Leonard J. & Virginia (nee Ziarko) Lewandowski. On October 7, 1962, he married his beloved wife and best friend Marcia J. Czarnik.

Steve was a man of many talents. Prior to owning and operating Swift- N – Low signs and Ye Olde Handyman Services Steve worked as a draftsman. He was a former many-year member of the Elk Grove Village Jaycees and a former longtime parishioner of St. Julian Eymard Catholic Church in Elk Grove Village.

Survivors include his beloved wife of almost 60 years, Marcia J.; their three children, Larry (Debbie) Lewandowski, Cheri (Scott) Paulsen, and Michelle (Craig) Shepherd. Other survivors include his six grandchildren all of whom he loved and was very proud of: Jeff, Averi, Derek, Kate, Rachel, and Maxx, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. In addition to his parents, Steve was preceded in death by his brothers, Lonny and Dennis, and his sister, Irene.

At Steve’s request, he was cremated. Family and friends will gather for a Funeral Mass on Saturday, October 8, 2022, at 10:30 A.M. at St. Julian Eymard Catholic Church (601 Biesterfield Road in Elk Grove Village). Steve’s family will be receiving friends at the church on Saturday morning from 9:30 A.M. until the time of the Mass. Private family inurnment will be at All Saints Cemetery in Des Plaines. Please omit flowers, memorials may be made to The American Cancer Society or The Alzheimer's Association. Miller Funeral Home in West Dundee is assisting the family with all arrangements.
