Obituary for Sheldon I. Landman
Sheldon I. Landman, age 84, of West Dundee former many-year resident of Des Plaines passed away on Thursday evening, December 22, 2022, at Advocate Sherman Hospital in Elgin. Sheldon was born on March 19, 1938, in Chicago and was the son of the late Jack & Molly Landman.
Sheldon was a resident of West Dundee for the past 19 years and was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Church in West Dundee. He was a former longtime Treasurer of the Carrington Reserve Home Owners Association. Sheldon was a very proud U.S. Army National Guard Veteran. He was a Certified Public Accountant by profession. Prior to retirement, for many years Sheldon served as the Chief Financial Officer of the American Dental Association.
Sheldon is survived by his two loving and devoted sons, Jason (Amy), and Adam (Kelli), and his four grandchildren all of whom he loved and was very proud of: Alexandra Marie, Jack Thomas, Isabel Grace, and Zachary Loren Cash Landman. Other survivors include his nieces, nephews, and countless good and faithful friends.
In addition to his parents, Sheldon was preceded in death by his beloved wife and best friend of 52 years, Rosemarie A. “Toni” Landman, on February 1, 2021and his two brothers, Melvin and Leo Landman.
At Sheldon’s request, he will be cremated. Family and Friends will gather for a Funeral Mass at 10:30 A.M. on Friday, January 6, 2023, at St. Catherine of Siena Church, West Dundee. Private family inurnment will follow at the Dundee Township East Cemetery Columbarium. The Landman family will be receiving friends at the church on Friday morning from 9:30 A.M. until the time of the Mass Please omit flowers. Masses would be appreciated.
