Obituary for Sandra Lee Richardson Fischer

Sandra L. Richardson Fischer, age 75, of Elgin passed away peacefully in the comfort of her home and under the care of her family on Saturday evening, November 12, 2022. Sandra was born on January 25, 1947, in Elgin and was the daughter of the late Vernell L. and Norma R. Richardson.

Sandra was a lifelong resident of the area and a 1965 graduate of Burlington Central High School. Following high school, she attended Columbia College and Ray Vogue Institute. Prior to retirement, Sandra was a many-year loyal and valued employee of “The Little Traveler” in Geneva where she served in management as well as organizing “The Little Traveler’s” trips and entertainment. Sandra enjoyed and was an avid gardener. She was a former many-year member of St. Peter Lutheran Church in Pingree Grove and is currently a member of Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church in East Dundee.

On August 7, 1970, she married her beloved husband Rauland C. Fischer. Rauland preceded Sandra in death on December 13, 2002, after 32 years of marriage.
Survivors include her brother, Steven (Jean) Richardson; her nephew and nieces: Matthew (Meagan) Richardson, Mary (Kurt) Long, Julie (Marcus) Simmons, and Jonetta Sherrill. Other survivors include her in-laws, her grandnieces, and grandnephews along with many good and faithful friends.

At Sandra’s request, she will be cremated. Her family will be receiving friends at Miller Funeral Home in West Dundee on Thursday, November 17, 2022 from 1:00 P.M. until the time of a Memorial Service at 3:00 P.M. with Rev. William P.
