Rodger A. Miller, Sr., age 73, of Carpentersville, passed away on Wednesday evening, May 10, 2023, surrounded by his family at Advocate Sherman Hospital in Elgin. Rodger was born in Anna, IL on December 30, 1949, and was the son of the late Owen & Chole Miller.
On July 24, 1971, he married his beloved wife and best friend Catherine L. Pastuszka. For over 50 years Rodger and Cathy lived in Carpentersville and raised their family. Prior to retirement, Rodger worked as an automobile mechanic.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Cathy; their two children, Elizabeth Miller and Rodger A. Jr., (Stacy) Miller; and his siblings: Jack (Iris) Miller, John (Clarinda) Miller, Ronny (Angie) Miller, Berry (Beth) Miller, Randy Miller, Marilyn Miller, Cheryl (Tony) Milan, Nancy (Chuck) Bero, and Kathy (Rev. Dr. Scott) Grulke. Other survivors include his two Psudo brothers, Wayne “Rooster” and John (Kathy) Stringer; his Pastuszka in-laws: Marilyn (Charlie) Rickey, Mary (Steve) Daggett, Janet Josh, Judith King, Stanley (Kim) Pastuszka, and Richard (Barbara) Pastuszka; his countless nieces, nephews, and friends; as well as his two canine companions, Trio and Penny.
In addition to his parents, Rodger was preceded in death by his brothers, Harold and Marvin; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Edward & Delphine “Dee” Pastuszka; brothers-in-law, Edward, Jr. and Raymond Pastuszka, and Carl Josh; and his nephews, Trevor Benefield and Charlie Rickey.
Visitation will be held on Monday, May 15, 2023, from 4-8 P.M. at Miller Funeral Home in West Dundee. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home followed by burial at the Dundee Twp. East Cemetery.
