Obituary for Richard W. "Rich " Lemke
Richard W.” Rich” Lemke, age 84, of Buchanan, Tennessee former many-year resident of “Old Carpentersville” passed away at his home on Tuesday, September 13, 2022. Rich was born on March 30, 1938, in Elmhurst, IL, and was the son of the late Edward W., Sr. and Margaret (nee Weir) Lemke.
On Dec. 31, 1970, he married his wife, Barbara. Barbara preceded Rich in death on January 14, 2005, after 34 years of marriage. Following in the footsteps of his father and brother, Rich was a proud and longstanding member of Sheet Metal Workers Union Local 265.
Survivors include his children, Laurie Lemke, Richard, Jr.(Anne) Lemke, Lisa Beltz, Vicki Strohman, and Troy (Joanna) Franke. Other survivors include his (4) grandchildren several great-grandchildren, and many friends.
In addition to his parents and his beloved wife Barbara, Richard was preceded in death by his brother, Edward W. Lemke, Jr.
Visitation will be held at Miller Funeral Home in West Dundee on Saturday, September 24, 2022, from 9:00 A.M. until the time of services at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Wendy Witt, Pastor officiating. Burial will follow at the Dundee Township East Cemetery in East Dundee. In lieu of flowers. Memorials may be made to either the American Heart Association or The Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
