Obituary for Reba Joyce Brown

Reba Joyce( nee Douglas) Brown of Sleepy Hollow, passed away Tuesday, October 18, 2022 with her husband of 61½ years, George W. “Bill” Brown and family at her side. After a lengthy illness at Alexian Brothers Medical Center in Elk Grove Village. Reba’s huge heart gave out and she’s at rest. An Angel gone home to heaven!!!
Reba was born on January 28, 1943 in Benton County, Tennessee and was the daughter of the late Eula M. (nee Kee) and Chester B. Douglas.
Reba was a loving wife, gentle loving mother of Karen J. (Jerry) Waller and Kevin W. (Andrea) Brown and six grandchildren, ten great grandchildren. Wonderful homemaker, excellent cook, faithful wife, nurturing mother, doting grandmother and inspiring great grandmother as well as a Baptist Missionary supporter and CEO of her own construction company, retired administrator-secretary and green-thumb flower husbandry. Loved to travel and meet new friends and photograph lighthouses and her family.
Mrs. Brown is survived by her husband and children and Laura, Shannon, Wesley, Billy, Brittany and Colton, grandchildren. Also her great grandchildren Alyssa, Tanner, Roari, Emma, Madilyn, Isabelle, Kaelyn, Dane, Drake and Archer. Also survived by her beloved sister-in-law Bonita and sisters Betty and Marjorie, brothers Hilliard and Wilbern Douglas.
Preceding her in death were brothers Danny and Louis Douglas and sister Eloise Fullerton.
Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, October 23, 2022 at 3:00 P.M. at the Stockdale-Malin Funeral Home in Big Sandy, Tennessee with Rev. Steve Douglas and Rev. Arzel Douglas Co-Officiating. Burial will follow in the Ramble Creek Cemetery in Benton County, Tennessee. Visitation will be held from 12:00 Noon until the time of the funeral services. Miller Funeral Home in West Dundee was assisting the family with all local arrangement.
