Obituary for Peggy A. Basura

Peggy A. Basura, age 89, of Carpentersville passed away peacefully in the home of her daughter in Algonquin, under the care of her family and hospice after a brief, but valiant battle with glioblastoma early Friday morning, March 3, 2023. Peggy was born in Chicago on December 28, 1933, and was the youngest of two daughters born to the late Charles and Nellie(nee Filipi) Moloni.
On November 12, 1960, she married her beloved husband Anthony G. Basura. Anthony preceded Peggy in death on June 6, 1983 after 22 years of marriage.
Peggy made her home in Carpentersville for the past 68 years and was a charter member of St. Monica Catholic Church in Carpentersville. Most recently, Peggy was attending Mass at St. Catherine of Siena Church in West Dundee. Prior to retirement, for 31 years, she was a loyal and valued employee of Walmart of East Dundee and then Carpentersville. Peggy was very active in the Carpentersville community. For over 40 years, she served as a Kane County Election Judge.
Survivors include her 4 children, Linda Seiler Horan, Karen Seiler Campbell, Randy (Cathy) Seiler, and Bruce (Monica) Basura; Her 6 grandchildren all of whom she loved and was very proud of, Buster (Liz) Torrez, Danielle (Mike) Kay, AJ ( Joey Grizzard) Horan, Alexis(Kenyan) Olsen, Marcella (Juan Carlos Oyola) Pelaez, and Diego Pelaez. Her great Grandchildren Jack, Olivia, Cooper, Carson, Camden, Greenlee, Finn, Tomas, Juliette, and Mila. Her niece, Debbie(Paul) Calveretta as well as countless good and faithful friends especially the John and Rosemary Skillman family. In addition to her parents and her beloved husband, Peggy was preceded in death by her sister Kathryn McGuinnes.
Family and friends will gather for a Funeral Mass on Tuesday, March 7, 2023, at 11:00 A.M.A.M. at St. Catherine of Siena Church in West Dundee with longtime friend Rev. J. Robert Camacho, officiating. Burial will follow at River Valley Memorial Gardens Cemetery in West Dundee. Visitation will be held at Miller Funeral Home in West Dundee on Monday, March 6, 2023, from 4:00 PM-8:00 PM and again at St. Catherine of Siena Church on Tuesday morning from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the Mass.
