Obituary for Pamela A. Lane

Pamela A. “Pam” Lane, age 88, a resident of Elgin for the past three years and a former many-year resident of Carpentersville passed away on Friday morning, December 16, 2022, at her home. Pam was born on November 12, 1934, in Port Clinton, Ohio, and was the daughter of the late George & Annabelle (nee Bahnsen) Sibrel. On August 17, 1960, she married her husband, Daniel N. Lane. Dan preceded Pam in death on November 22, 1992, after 32 years of marriage. Pam was a resident of the area for 56 years and was a longtime member of the First Congregational Church in West Dundee. Prior to her career as a full-time wife and mom, Pam worked as an Elementary School teacher.
Survivors include her three children, Susan K. (Robert) Barr, Daniel G. (Tracie) Lane, and Jodi A. Matovich; her six grandchildren: Scott (Deanna) Lane, Kathryn (John) Alaniz, Emily (George) Balkas, Mitchell Lane, Jonathon Barr, and Zacary Matovich, and her six great-grandchildren: Jayden Lane, Aubrey Lane, Mason Alaniz, Melody Alaniz, Caden Alaniz, and Peter Balkas. Other survivors include her sisters, Marlene Dowdell and Georgia (Jim) Kaufmann, As well as her nieces, nephews, and friends.

At Pam’s request, she will be cremated. There will be no visitation or public service. There will be a private family graveside inurnment service held at River Valley Memorial Gardens in West Dundee with Rev. Aaron James, Officiating. Please omit flowers. Memorials may be made to the First Congregational Church of West Dundee.
