Obituary for Norman R. Anderson

Norman R. “Norm” Anderson, age 80, of Carpentersville passed away on Saturday morning, July 16, 2022, at Advocate Sherman Hospital in Elgin surrounded by his family. Norm was born on August 31, 1941, in Hazelhurst, Wisconsin.

Norm was a very proud United States Army veteran and was honorably discharged in 1961. He and Barbara moved to Carpentersville in 1967 and raised their family. During that time they enjoyed the company of countless good friends and neighbors. He was an avid sportsman and enjoyed the outdoors. He was very proud of his hunting dogs who accompanied him on the hunt. He also enjoyed fishing and pursuing “big Muskies” with his son.

Survivors include his beloved wife of 61 years, Barbara (nee Ciszewski) Anderson; their daughter, Lisa (Bob) Martin of Greenville, TX, and their son, Kenneth (Michelle)Anderson of Crystal Lake; his grandsons, Cainan (Haley), Drew, and Nekoda (Kenzie) Martin all of Texas, and great-grandchildren, Kingston, Benjamin, and Kimber. Other survivors include his half-brother, David (June) Anderson; his stepsister, Norma (Warren) Kuchler; his sisters-in-law, Kathy and Shirley Anderson, along with many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Norm was preceded in death by his mother, Hertha and her husband Bob Gemein; his father Robert Anderson, and his wife, Carol Allborn; his sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy and Dr. Edward Klemptner, and his brothers, Bud and Jerry Anderson.

At Norman’s request, he will be cremated. There will be no visitation or services. The Anderson family will be mourning their loss privately. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
