Obituary for Nichole D.J. Kasala

Nichole D.J. “Nikki” Kasala, age 32, of Algonquin passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on Thursday, March 14, 2024. Nichole was born in Elgin on August 14, 1991, and was the daughter of Michael P. Kasala and Cynthia G. Johnson.

Nichole was a lifelong resident of the area and a 2009 graduate of Dundee Crown High School. Following high school, she continued her education at Western Illinois University and later earned a Bachelor’s degree from Northern Illinois University in Dekalb.

Nikki was a phenomenal artist and could freehand draw almost anything. From an early age, she was extremely talented. She loved animals so much, she dreamt of being a veterinarian when she was younger. She always wanted the world to be filled with love and art. Nikki left an impact on whomever she met. She never missed an opportunity to see live music or travel. She loved doing new things and was up for anything. Nikki lived life to the fullest. She will be deeply missed. She was taken away too soon.

Nikki is survived by her daughter, Dakota; her father, Michael; her mother and step-father, Cynthia and Dale Peterson; and her sister, Alyssa Kasala; and her brother, Hayden Peterson. In addition to countless good and faithful friends, Nikki is survived by her maternal grandmother, Donna Johnson; her paternal grandmother, Caroline Kasala; and her aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Nikki was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Edwin R. Johnson, and Barbara L. (Harry) Anderson; paternal grandfather, Stephen A. Kasala; and an aunt, Diane G. Johnson.

Nikki will be cremated. A Gathering celebrating her life will be held from 2:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. on Saturday, April 13, 2024, at the Lake in the Hills American Legion 1101 W.
