Obituary for Michael Wayne Wilmoth
Michael W. “Mike” Wilmoth, age 74, of Carpentersville passed away on Saturday, April 22, 2023, at Northwestern Medicine at Lake Forest Hospital in Lake Forest. Mike was born on February 24, 1949, in Chicago, Illinois, and was the son of the late Wayne C. “Slim” and Lillian T. “Red” (nee Brice) Wilmoth.
Mike was a lifelong resident of Carpentersville and a 1967 graduate of Dundee Community High School. Following high school, Mike served in the United States Navy( Vietnam era). Prior to retirement, for over 40 years, Mike was a loyal and valued employee of Goodrich, ISR of Barrington. For many years, Mike was a member of Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church in East Dundee. He was a lifelong Chicago Cubs Fan, an avid car enthusiast, and a longtime member of the Buick Rivera Car Club.
Mike is survived by his sister, Martha “Marti” (the late Chuck) Halik, and his niece, Dayna (Robert) Mounce. Other survivors include many good and faithful friends. At Mike’s request, he will be cremated. Prior to the public Memorial Service, there will be a private family burial with military honors at River Valley Memorial Gardens Cemetery in West Dundee.
Family and friends will gather for Memorial Funeral Services on Saturday, April 29, 2023, at 11:30 A.M. at Immanuel Lutheran Church in East Dundee with Rev. William P. Yonker, Senior Pastor officiating. Mike’s family will be receiving friends at the church from 10:30 A.M. until the time of the Memorial Service. Please omit flowers.
