Obituary for Mary Ellen Yuscka
Mary Ellen Yuscka, age 72, of West Dundee passed away on Monday afternoon, January 23, 2023, at the Clarendale of Algonquin. Mary was born on August 16, 1950, in Evanston, IL., and was the daughter of the late Robert & Florence (nee McDonnell) Stritch.
On September 30, 1978, she married her beloved husband and best friend Andrew P. “Andy” Yuscka.
Andy and Mary made their home in West Dundee for the past 29 years and she attended Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church in East Dundee. Prior to retirement, Mary worked in the printing industry in various sales positions. Mary loved to travel as well as volunteer. She was a talented artist and an avid reader. Mary loved the outdoors and nature and she was an accomplished water and snow skier.
In addition to her beloved husband of almost 45 years, Andy, Mary is survived by her sister, Flornie and her husband Chris Munson, and her brothers, Robert, Garrett and his wife Vicki, and Patrick Stritch. Other survivors include her sister-in-law, Catherine Petersen, her nieces and nephews, Kim, Matt, and Nathan Petersen, Molly and her husband Richard Doran, Chic and Sammy Munson, and many good friends. In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her sister, Kathie and her brother, Samuel.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, January 30, 2023, at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church in East Dundee with Rev. William P. Yonker, Senior Pastor, officiating. Burial will follow at the River Valley Memorial Gardens Cemetery in West Dundee. Visitation will be held at Miller Funeral Home in West Dundee on Sunday from 2-5 P.M. and again on Monday morning at the church from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the funeral. Please omit Flowers. Memorials may be made to either the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the Alzheimer’s Association.
