Obituary for Mary Louise Johnson

Mary Louise Knaak Blanken Johnson age 88, of Scottsdale, Arizona, a former many-year resident of Punta Gorda, Florida and the Dundee area passed away on Sunday, December 18, 2022, in Scottsdale, Arizona.
Mary was born in Hinsdale on March 5, 1934, and was the only child of the late Adolph and Alta (nee Schuring) Knaak. She was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church and was a 1948 graduate of Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran School. Mary was a 1952 graduate of Dundee Community High School. Prior to retirement, Mary had worked as a certified financial planner in Florida.
She was an avid Bridge player and over the years she enjoyed many hands of Bridge with her friends. Mary was a longtime friend of “Bill W.” and was extremely proud of her 45 years of sobriety and her many friends throughout the fellowship.
Survivors include her three children, Michelle (the late Richard) Sieloff, Michael (Ronni) Blanken, and Kurt (Denise) Blanken. Other survivors include her five grandchildren all of whom she loved and was very proud of: Sean (Gerri), Sarah (Joe), Lauren, and Emily Blanken, and Alison (Thomas) Golson; her five great-grandchildren Joshua, Reece, Emma, Ethan, and Marla, and one great-great-grandchild, Delia. In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her former husband and friend Bruce Blanken, and her husband, Everett “Huck” Johnson.
At Mary’s request, she was cremated. A memorial visitation will be held at Miller Funeral Home in West Dundee on Saturday, March 4, 2023, from 1-3 P.M. with a Memorial Service held at 2:30 P.M. with Rev. William P. Yonker, officiating. Private family inurnment will be at the Lakewood Memorial Park Cemetery in Elgin. Memorials may be made to Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church or Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran School.
