Mark A. Nykaza, age 60, of East Dundee former many-year resident of Elmwood Park and Elgin passed away unexpectantly at his home on Thursday, November 17, 2022. Mark was born in Chicago on May 31, 1962, and was one of four sons born to Erwin S. “ Archie” & Joanne (nee Riggio) Nykaza. Survivors include his mother, Joanne; his children, Dereck (Katie) Nykaza, Melissa (James Kennebrew) Nykaza, and Ashley (Lee Washington) Nykaza; his grandchildren, all of whom he loved and was very proud of, Janiya, Dashaun, Riley, Kylee, and Cameron. Other survivors include his nieces, nephews, and many good and faithful friends. In addition to his paternal and maternal grandparents, he was preceded in death by his father, Archie, and his three brothers, Robert, Michael, and Daniel Nykaza. At Mark’s request, he will be cremated. Family and friends will gather for a Funeral Mass on Monday, December 5, 2022, at 11:00 A.M. at St. Catherine of Siena Church in West Dundee with Rev. John McNamara, officiating. Inurnment will be private at Mount Carmel Cemetery in Hillside. Mark’s family will be receiving friends at the church on Monday morning from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the Mass. Miller Funeral Home in West Dundee is assisting the family with all arrangements.
