Margaret McGuire Franzen, age 78, of East Dundee passed away peacefully in the comfort of her home under the care of her husband on Tuesday evening, November 1, 2022. Margaret was born in Chicago on April 13, 1944, and was one of three daughters born to the late Morris M. & Irma (nee Link) McGuire
Margaret was a many-year resident of the area and prior to retirement had worked as a realtor at Remax, and before that, she was a horse trainer & owner for 25 years.
Survivors include her husband, Karl A. Franzen; her stepson, John Franzen, and her stepdaughter, Nicole (Brett) Schur. Other survivors include her sister, Miriam (Dean) Gilman, and her five grandchildren: Lauren, Natalie, Peyton Schur, and Yana and Sofia Franzen, along with many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Margaret was preceded in death by her sister, Betty Spencer.
At Margaret’s request, she will be cremated. There will be no visitation. A Celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
