JoAnn E. Pilson, age 88, of East Dundee passed away on Wednesday morning, October 12, 2022 at the River Crossing Nursing and Rehab Center in Elgin. JoAnn was born in Chicago on September 2, 1934, and was one of 9 children born to the late Glen and Catherine Rigsby.
JoAnn was a resident of the Woodstock-Huntley and East Dundee areas for over the past 60 years. She was an active member of Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church in East Dundee. JoAnn also was a member of the church’s Dorcas Society.
Survivors include her 2 sons, Curtis (Sue) and Mark (Rebecca) Pilson. Other survivors include her grandchildren, Austa Pilson, Mitchell Pilson, Kate-Leigh (Steve) McClone, and Orion Pilson, and her great-grandchildren, Olivia Pilson and Charles McClone. JoAnn is also survived by many nieces and nephews as well as several good and faithful friends. In addition to her parents, JoAnn was preceded in death by her husband Elton in 1990 and her 8 siblings.
At JoAnn’s request, she will be cremated. Memorial Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, October 16, 2022 at 2:30 P.M. at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church in East Dundee with Rev. William P. Yonker, Senior Pastor officiating. Inurnment will be private. JoAnn’s family will be receiving friends at the church on Sunday from 2:00 P.M. until the time of the service. Following the service, all are invited to Luther Hall for refreshments from 3:00 - 5:00 P.M. Please omit flowers. Memorials may be made in her memory to the Dorcas Society.
