Janet L. Field, age 77, of Carpentersville passed away on Wednesday evening, May 17, 2023, at the Three Oaks Assisted Living Center in Cary. Janet was born in Chicago on May 13, 1946, and was the daughter of the late Robert & Lois (nee Theis) Kawell.
Janet was a graduate of Lewis University where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Science. Prior to retirement, Janet worked as a computer analyst in the radiology department at Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights. For almost 50 years, Janet was a resident of Carpentersville and was a member of St. Monica Catholic Church in Carpentersville. For many years, Janet was a C.C.D. Teacher at St. Monica’s.
Survivors include her beloved husband of 54 years, George H. Field, they married on January 25, 1969; their three children, Dawn E. (Nancy Nietman) Field, Eric L. Field, and Carrie L. (Timothy) Torkelson; and her grandchildren: Kiley and Jordan Torkelson, and Alyssa, Ryan, and Megan Field. Other Survivors include her siblings: Sharon (Al) Fleck, Gary (Kim) Kawell, Wayne Kawell, and Maureen (Bob) Emmerich, as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends. In addition to her parents, Janet was preceded in death by her brother, Alan Kawell, and her sister, Carolyn Stein.
Family and friends will gather for a visitation on Monday, May 22, 2023, at 9:30 a.m. at St. Monica Church in Carpentersville until the time of the Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. Private interment will be at St. Michael The Archangel Cemetery in Palatine. Please omit flowers. Masses would be appreciated or memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association. The Field family was very appreciative of all of the care and concern that Janet and they received from Gentiva Hospice.
