Obituary for Janet M. Billings
Janet Mary Billings, 81, of Evesham, NJ, passed away on Thursday, April 6, 2023. Janet was born in Elgin, IL on March 22, 1942, to Blanche and Herbert Stumpf.
She grew up with her twin sister, Joyce, in Gilberts IL, and graduated from St. Edward’s High School in Elgin. She earned her education degree from the University of Illinois. After marriage, Janet enjoyed raising her family, playing golf, reading nonfiction, and socializing with friends. When Janet moved to New Jersey, she embraced “going to the Shore” at Ocean City, NJ. She also enjoyed cheering on her adopted hometown teams: the Phillies and the Eagles.
She is survived by her daughters, Dianna B. Weglarz (Doug) of Wheaton and Lisa Delphais (John) of Exton, PA; and her son, Doug (Jennifer Phelan) of Burlington, NJ; her grandchildren Elizabeth, Joseph, and Nicholas Delphais; Maggie and Lucy Weglarz; and her great-grandson Jared Ortiz.
Janet was preceded in death by her parents, Blanche Tobin Stumpf and Herbert Stumpf; her twin sister, Joyce M. Wagner and Joyce’s husband, Bernard R. Wagner; and her loving husband of 56 years, Richard J. Billings.
Visitation will be held on Monday, April 17, 2023, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of prayers at 10:15 A.M. followed by a funeral procession to Saint Mary Catholic Church, Gilberts for Mass at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. John McNamara, Pastor, officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary Cemetery, Gilberts. In lieu of flowers. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association (alz.org).
