Obituary for James T. Schuldt Sr.

James T. Schuldt, Sr., age 92, of “Old Carpentersville” passed away peacefully in the comfort of his home on Sunday afternoon, August 21, 2022. Jim was born on June 1, 1930, in Elgin and was one of five sons born to the late Arnold & Alice (nee Mahlman) Schuldt. Jim was a native of “Old Carpentersville”, a 1948 graduate of Dundee Community High School, and a lifelong member of Zion United Church of Christ (now Zion Christian Church) in Old Carpentersville. He was a 1952 Graduate of The University of Illinois and a member of the U of I Basketball Team, which was one of the Final 4 teams in 1951 & 1952. He was a member of the Illinois Basketball Hall of Fame, The University of Illinois Hall of Fame, and an inaugural member of the Dundee Crown Sports Hall of Fame. He was also a very proud U.S. Army veteran. For over 24 years, Jim was a loyal and valued employee of School District #300 where he served as a High School Counselor at Dundee Community High School and Dundee Crown High School. Jim was also a former many-year Carpentersville Village Trustee.

On October 16, 1954, he married Elizabeth “Barbara” Hartman. Barbara preceded Jim in death on March 7, 2022, after 67 years of marriage

Survivors include his two sons, Joseph and John. Other survivors include his three grandchildren: JT and his wife Brandy Schuldt, Cori Schuldt, and Katie and her husband Brandon Morang. Other survivors include his eight great-grandchildren: Olivia, Aiden, Charlie, Landon, Blake, Bay, Bentley, and Veda; as well as his nieces, nephews, and many friends. In addition to his parents, and his beloved wife, Jim was preceded in death by his oldest son, James T. Schuldt, Jr. on March 10, 2022, and his brothers Bethard " Bee", Arnold "Puggy", Gerald, and Jack Schuldt. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, August 27, 2022, at 12:00 P.M. Noon in the Miller Funeral Home in West Dundee. Burial will follow at the Dundee Township East Cemetery in East Dundee. Visitation will be held on Saturday morning from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service. Please omit flowers.
