Herbert E. Seidel, D.D.S. age 89, of Dundee Township passed away peacefully in the comfort of his home surrounded by his family on Tuesday morning, August 16, 2022. Herb was born in Chicago on January 17, 1933, and was the son of the late Herbert & Louise Seidel. He was a 1960 graduate of Loyola University School of Dentistry. Prior to retirement, for over 51 years, Herb practiced Dentistry in Chicago He was a very proud U.S. Army veteran serving from 1953-1955 and earned the rank of Corporal. Herb was a Standard Poodle enthusiast as well as an avid Fly Fisherman. He was a member of the Northern Illinois Fly Tyers Club and was a member of the First Congregational Church in West Dundee
Herb is survived by his wife of 32 years, Carol Anne; Two daughters, Susan and her husband Tom Curtin, and Karen and her husband Chris Harvey. Herb is also survived by his four grandchildren, Eric and Ryan Curtin, Chase, and his wife Kayla Harvey, and Colton Harvey. Herb is also survived by his canine companion “Gabriel” as well as many good and faithful friends and patients.
In addition to his parents, Herb was preceded in death by his son, Herbert E. Seidel, and his sister, Carol Kaniff.
At Herb’s request, he will be cremated. At this time Herb’s family will be mourning their loss privately. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
