Obituary for Foteini Manolesis Papageorgiou
Foteini (nee Manolesis) Papageorgiou, age 72, of Crystal Lake passed away on Saturday afternoon, September 3, 2022, at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago. Foteini was born on July 26, 1950, in Greece and was the daughter of the late Panagiotis & Demetra (nee Bravos) Manolesis.
Foteini was a member of St. Sophia Greek Orthodox Church in Elgin. Prior to retirement, for many years she was employed by The Greek American Home where she worked as an Activities Aid.
Survivors include her husband of 45 years, James; their daughter, Maria and grandson, Ethan. Other survivors include her siblings: Ioanna (Alex) Haralambopoulos, Anastasios (Hariklia) Manolesis, Georgios (Georgia) Manolesis, and Lemonia (the late George) Benardis, as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends. In addition to her parents, Foteini was preceded in death by her brother, Alexios Manolesis.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 8, 2022, from 9:00 A.M. until the time of Funeral Services at 11:00 A.M. at St. Sophia Greek Orthodox Church 525 Church Road in Elgin with Rev. Fr. Andrew G. Karamitos, Protopresbyter, officiating. Burial will follow at Crystal Lake Memorial Park Cemetery in Crystal Lake.
