Ellen Mary O’Connor, age 72, of East Dundee passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, February 28, 2023, in the comfort of her home. Ellen was born on December 15, 1950, in Chicago and was one of six children born to the late Raymond C. & Elizabeth T. (nee Tintera) O’Connor.
Ellen was a lifelong resident of Dundee and a lifelong member of St. Catherine of Siena Church in West Dundee. Ellen was a 1964 graduate of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Elementary School, a 1968 graduate of St. Edward High School in Elgin, and a 1972 graduate of St. Francis College in Joliet. Ellen was a Medical Technologist by profession and spent her entire career in healthcare. For over 40 years, she was a loyal and valued employee of Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove.
Survivors include her four sisters: Maureen (Bill) Richoux, Regina Terrell, Elizabeth (Larry) Conway, Patricia (Don) Borkowski, and her brother, Terence O’Connor. Other survivors include her 14 nieces and nephews, and many grand and great-nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends. In addition to her parents, Ellen was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Grant Terrell; her sister-in-law, Marcia O'Connor; and her two nephews, Philip Conway and Andrew O'Connor.
Family and Friends will gather for a Funeral Mass on Thursday, March 9, 2023, at 11:00 A.M. at St. Catherine of Siena Church, West Dundee with Rev. Rey Talento, officiating. Private family burial will follow at St. Mary Cemetery, Gilberts. Visitation will be held on Thursday morning at the church from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the Mass.
