Obituary for David J. Tkach
David J. Tkach age 60, of Sleepy Hollow formerly of Elk Grove Village, passed away on Friday, February 17, 2023, at St. Alexius Medical Center in Hoffman Estates after a courageous battle with cancer.
Dave was born in East Chicago, Indiana on March 8, 1962, and was the son born to the late John & Wilma ( nee DeLong) Tkach.
Dave was a graduate of Northern Illinois University in Dekalb and earned a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a minor in Criminal Justice. He later attended Triton Community College and earned a degree in Nursing. Dave worked as a Registered Nurse and was employed by St. Alexius Behavioral Health in Hoffman Estates for many years. He had an interest in Astronomy, he loved music as well as playing his guitar.
Survivors include his wife of 4 years, Pam Anderson Zundl Tkach; his daughter, Carly A. ( Avery) Frain; his son, Ryan G. Tkach; his step-daughter Stephanie (Andrew) Hilbert; and his grandson, Adam. Dave was looking forward to the birth of Stephanie and Andrew’s daughter in April of this year. Other survivors include his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ronald and Karin Anderson, as well as his nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and many good and faithful friends.
In addition to his parents, Dave was preceded in death by his first wife Barbara A.( nee Cimarusti) Tkach in 2005.
Visitation will be held at Miller Funeral Home in West Dundee on Wednesday, February 22, 2023, from 3:00- 7:00 P.M. followed by a celebration of his life. At Dave’s request, he will then be cremated.
