Daniel J. Culp, age 54, of Pingree Grove, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Saturday evening, January 14, 2023. Dan was born in Elgin on January 25, 1968, and was the son of the late David H. & Romayne J. (nee Rakow) Culp. Dan was a lifelong resident of the area and a 1986 graduate of Dundee-Crown High School. Dan was formerly employed by the Illinois Tollway for 5 years. Prior to working for the tollway, Dan spent 4 years at the Illinois State Beach Park, and prior to that he spent 15 years working for the Village of Carpentersville. He enjoyed all outdoor activities and was an avid woodworker. Dan was a longtime member and volunteer with the Friends of the Fox. Survivors include his longtime companion and significant other, Nancy R. D’Andrea, and his children Chance and Chasidy. Other survivors include his siblings: Peggy and her husband Bret Schaefer, Mike Culp and his fiance’ Laura Kaufenberg, Helen and her husband Tom Lawrence, his nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles as well as countless good and faithful friends. In addition to his parents, Dan was preceded in death by his sister, Susan Cook.

At Dan’s request, he will be cremated. A Memorial Gathering will be held at Miller Funeral Home in West Dundee on Saturday, January 28, 2023, from 2:00 - 5:00 P.M.
