Obituary for Catherine N Grant
Catherine N. “ Cathy” Grant, age 83, of Carpentersville passed away on Friday morning, April 7, 2023, at Crystal Pines Nursing and Healthcare Center in Crystal Lake. Cathy was born in Salt Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada on December 27, 1939, and was the daughter of the late Eli & Madeline ( nee Agawa ) Jordan. On April 4, 1963, she married her husband Robert I. Grant. Bob preceded Cathy in death on July 10, 2012, after 49 years of marriage.
Cathy was a resident of Carpentersville for the past 53 years and a former member of the Carpentersville Moose Lodge # 1958. Prior to retirement, for over 20 years, Cathy was a loyal and valued employee of Acme Industries in Carpentersville.
Survivors include her son, Lynn R. (Jodi) Grant, and her three grandsons Clint, Kevin, and Matthew. Other survivors include her siblings, Beatrice Ackerman, Rose (Tom) Gerber, Bernadine Uy, Donald (Stephanie), John (Linda), Bobby, and Richard Jordan, as well as her many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Cathy was preceded in death by her son, Robert J. "Bobby" Grant on January 29, 2012, and her four sisters: Mary, Liz, Georgina, and Marjorie, and her brother, Edward.
Private family visitation and funeral service will be held at the Miller Funeral Home in West Dundee on Monday, April 10, 2023, followed by burial at the Dundee Township East Cemetery.
