Carol S. Johnson, age 91, of West Dundee former many-year resident of Elgin and Morton Grove passed away peacefully on Sunday morning, March 12, 2023, at The Alden of Huntley. Carol was born in West Allis, Wisconsin on June 12, 1931, and was the only child born to the late Edwin & Viola Blomquist.
On July 14, 1951, she married her husband Harold A. Johnson. Harold preceded Carol in death on December 2, 1978, after only 27 years of marriage.

For many years, Carol did office/clerical work at Lazy Boy furniture in Algonquin and was furloughed during the COVID 19 pandemic. Carol was not one for sitting around idle so she went to work at Walmart where she worked as a cashier. She officially retired at the age of 90. Carol was an avid crafter and was very talented. She enjoyed crafting and gave many of her pieces away as gifts to her family and friends.

Survivors include her daughter Deborah S. Schuring and her 3 grandchildren all of whom she loved and was extremely proud of; David (Kristine) Pizzolato, Beth (Christopher) Dittsworth, and Traci Schuring. Her three great-granddaughters, Avery, Addison, and Hailey Pizzolato.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, March 16, 2023, at 11:00 A.M. at Miller Funeral Home in West Dundee with Rev. William P. Yonker, officiating. Private family burial will be at the Ridgewood Cemetery in Des Plaines. Carol’s family will be receiving friends at the funeral home on Thursday morning from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
