Carol J. Chevalier, age 74, of Elgin passed away peacefully in the comfort of her home, surrounded by and under the care of her family on Monday, January 2, 2023. Carol was born on January 16, 1948, in Elgin and was the daughter of the late Richard & Shirley (nee Harmon) Brandes. Carol was a lifelong resident of Elgin, a 1966 graduate of Elgin High School, and a lifelong member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Elgin.

Survivors include her husband of 51 years, James K. “Jim”; their daughter, Kim (Brett) Sirotzki; their son, Keith (Jamie) Chevalier, and her two grandsons, Braden Sirotzki and Duncan Chevalier.

Carol is also survived by her five siblings: David (Marilyn) Brandes, Sharon (the late Skip) Keehler, Jim (Rhonda), John (Pam), and Paul (Lori) Brandes, many nieces and nephews, and countless good and faithful friends.

Family and friends will gather for Funeral Services on Saturday, January 14, 2023, at 11:00 A.M. at St. John’s Lutheran Church 115 N Spring Street in Elgin with Rev. Kevin Ader, Pastor officiating. The burial will be private at Bluff City Cemetery in Elgin. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 13, 2023, at Miller Funeral Home in West Dundee from 4:00 P.M.- 8:00 P.M. and again on Saturday morning at the church from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service.
