Beatrice A.” Bea” Ervin, age 89, of East Dundee passed away on Tuesday afternoon, October 18, 2022, in the comfort of her home surrounded by and under the care of her family. Bea was born in Elgin on April 8, 1933, and was the daughter of the late Otto & Anna (nee Gerdau) Schwartz. On September 12, 1953, she married her beloved husband and best friend James C. ”Jim” Ervin. Jim preceded Bea in death on February 15, 2003, after 49 ½ years of marriage.

Bea was a lifelong resident of the Dundee- Elgin Area, and a 1951 graduate of Dundee Community High School. She was a lifelong, faithful, and active member of Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church in East Dundee. Prior to retirement, for over 25 years, Bea was a valued and loyal employee of Knowles Electronics in Elgin.

Survivors include her daughters, Denise Ervin and Janice West; her two grandsons, Jeremiah (significant other Janice Mezzano) Green and Zachary Green; her great-granddaughter, Audrey Green, and her great-grandson, Quentin Green. Bea is also survived by her sister, Alladee Zerbel, as well as her nieces, nephews, her Immanuel church family, and friends.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 23, 2022, in Luther Hall at Immanuel Lutheran Church in East Dundee from 2:00-5:00 P.M. and again on Monday morning from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. William P. Yonker, Senior Pastor, officiating. Burial will follow at Dundee Twp. East Cemetery in East Dundee. Bea’s family has requested that flowers be omitted and that memorials instead be given to the Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church General Fund.
